Abstract

We report a case of chronic subdural hematoma of the brain, which was identified during a spine examination. A 65-year-old woman presented with progressive weakness in the left leg, which had persisted for 20 days. She had been experiencing chronic lower back pain and left leg pain since 7 years, for which she received nerve block and physical therapy. However, in our clinic, neurological examination revealed left hemiparesis, and scout-view magnetic resonance imaging revealed chronic subdural hematoma of the brain. This was confirmed by computed tomography findings. Thorough examination and accurate diagnostic tests are essential in the differential diagnosis of all patients presenting with hemiparesis, even when the symptoms resemble those associated with a cervical lesion.
